$68 for OA raised at Occupy Sarotoga's event

Today, in Saratoga Springs, at our Bank Transfer Day protest (Moveon and Saratoga Peace Alliance also participated) and following at our Occupy Saratoga GA we had a table set up for OA donations. $68.55 was collected for OA as well as a few winter cloth items and some non-perishable food items. Tomorrow we will be delivering the donated items and cash to OA.

Occupy Saratoga is currently meeting at NOON every Saturday in Saratoga Springs on Broadway in front of the Post Office. We join the long standing (over 10 years) Saratoga Peace Alliance's weekly Protest for Peace and immediately afterwards have our GA in front of the Post Office. This is the second week we have had a donation table for OA and plan on collecting donations for OA on a weekly basis.

Cool stuff. How are you handling your GA's? Do they feel productive? Are you using consensus based decision making?

We have been using the consensus method and so far our discussions and votes have been on very simple things (like meeting time/place, participation in the Bank Transfer Day, our specific name for the group, etc.). We are hoping to keep getting more and more attendees each week. We get a lot of positive response from people going by but we need more members at our actual meetings. Hopefully it will continue to grow.
