I wasn't sure where to post this, Ill try to post it in each WG Forum.
Here's my idea and others mentioned it also. After November 8th there will be a ton of political yard signs left behind from candidates.
1. After Nov 8th gather yard signs and metal stakes 2. Screen print over them with Occupy "messages" (both me and Mike Fiske have the ability to do this) 3. Head out and put them everywhere....Wolf Road, Central Ave etc
I do not have transportation, I think with a group effort we could flood the landscape with these...
What say ye? Thoughts? I think PR, Outreach and Arts should have a group meting at some point.

This is a great idea. My only concern is that if signs aren't removed within a certain period of time after election day it's considered littering, and...I wouldn't really want us to be litterers even if it seems justified.
We could use them for the cardstock, though. It's free sign-making material.

This is a killer idea. I can print some as well. What is the legality of taking the signs? Are they still "owned" by campaigns after election day? Agreed, it would be great to re-use them at least.

I was just thinking that today! I used to do this all the time and never had problems. It would be great to get signs with basic messages and info out into all the neighborhoods of Albany (and in suburbia). Maybe we could get hundreds of them to put all over the Capitol lawn with a certain message or something.

There's nothing wrong with taking signs after election day. The campaigns are actually required to.

If anyone wants to gather some up and they can be dropped off inside the sign tent (in a neat pile). We will need the metal pieces also.
The Capitol Lawn would be awesome also! Ill put out a request for lawn signs
(joshred: I think it will be ok)
