I couldn't figure out if this would deem one group or several sub groups, but I really liked the title lol. To sustain a prolonged occupation eg occupy wall street, I found that one thing that I feel is beneficial is how they have medical area, a kitchen and food distribution. Setting up triage care would be great, and for folks who have experience in the medical field to keep an eye out for the over all health of protestors. Example keep an eye out for dehydration, over exertion etc. Another possible sub group could be sanitation... keepin' an eye on trash etc.... keeps things clean for our health, and shows that as a group we respect our surroundings and the area that we occupy.

These are two very good suggestions. Especially sanitation.

I'm with Food Not Bombs Albany and we're prepared to make food for any actions that come out of Occupy Albany. We've been talking about the possibility of a 7 day a week FnB to feed the occupation if necessary. Of course we would need more volunteers to do that much food prep, pick-ups and clean up but we're willing to do as much as we can handle. Also, the Furnace community space on Grand St. has offered itself up for any occupation needs.

That sounds phenomenal, but I worry about the cost. Well the FnB people be at the next General Assembly?

At the General Assembly tonight we formed a little working group to talk about food, (we'll be meeting at noon at 84 grand st. tomorrow to talk more if anyone wants to come). though i hope we'll expand the conversation to other human needs as well.
Food Not Bombs groups rescue food that would otherwise go to waste (grocery store produce department shrink, bakeries that throw out bread, etc.) to make their meals which will keep costs way down so we have that to offer the group. anybody who has connections to free/cheap food and other supplies that occupiers might need should let it be known.
