Hello all, I am from the capital district, but living in Northern Vermont now, and a follower of the Occupy Vermont in Burlington. If I could be in two places at once, I'd be in Albany, also. As I have been following your plight, and I follow the OWS in NYC, it seems to me that a yurt or commercial tent with some type of combustion heater, is not the best idea for safety OR PR with the authorities. My suggestion, Shelter: Please take a walk to the NYS Museum, and check out the Iroquois Longhouse, a full sized model. To create something our indigenous forefathers used for generations. Possibly using PVC pipes for construction, and tarps. Low cost and a statement. www.nysm.nysed.gov/IroquoisVillage/buildingmodel.html#jHeating/Electricity/Comfort: A diesel generator, running on waste vegetable oil could provide power for electric blankets (no poisonous gas in shelter and no wasted heat). Exhaust would smell like french fries. It would be possible to run the exhaust through an heat ex-changer and blower from an old furnace, for warmth for meetings, etc.

There are native people in the area who could guide you through building a long house and it would be uniquely symbolic of these changing times - not going backward but, looking at the wisdom of those who lived here first and honored Mother Earth and its people as we move past the corporate chains.
