Could we do that? Folks have asked me when I am in the park, and they have asked me privately via email or PM, and I have seen questions going by on the forums and on FB.
It's my understanding that we're meeting at 4:30 everyday at the Vietnam statue in Lafayette Park. Is that still true?
I'm happy to keep a list of people who want to know when F/L meetings will be, and broadcast a daily reminder or let anyone know when the regular meeting time and place changes. Would y'all object to letting me know when meetings are and getting an occasional message from me about when they are?

Today the "meeting" at 4:30 was not at the statue, it was standing around on the sidewalk by the food tent. And there has been talk of meeting in the evenings instead of at 4:30 to be accessible to more / different people. I wasn't able to stay for the additional meeting planned for after General Assembly tonight, so I don't know if more has been decided.
But yes, we should be better about announcing when they are! I'm cool with the text messages but don't think we should rely on them exclusively. People who are not on our list yet should be able to easily find out how to show up to a meeting.

We met today and tried to clarify what we're doing about meeting times. This is what we're working with, for now: - Facilitation working group will meet directly after each General Assembly ends. (20 minutes after was suggested. Was that decided on?) - The meetings before each GA will continue, but not for general working group business, just to confirm who's on the facilitation team for this meeting and gather items for the agenda. For those purposes it's enough to meet 30 minutes before GA instead of an hour before. - Folks who are willing to be on facilitation teams are strongly encouraged to respond to the "when is good" scheduling poll Matt created to indicate which days we will and won't be there for GA. This way we can anticipate gaps and look for someone to fill them in advance.
This info will also be announced in our working group report back at GA tomorrow.

I can't regularly make either of those meeting times, and I also think it's important to periodically have a more in-depth facilitation wg discussion. A longer time frame perhaps, and maybe a warmer and better-lit location. Once a week? Or as-needed? Either way, please make sure that any additional meetings or changes to the schedule are broadcsast (email, texts, here...)
I also really want the group to discuss the idea of fewer GAs. Easier to staff well, and more accessible for folks who can't be there every evening (the less often something happens, the more likely people are to make an effort to get to any specific one).
