I wanted to do/coordinate a teach-in on how to build a solar oven and other energy-related projects. Namely, a friend of mine has an exercise bike that's ALMOST ready to be used as a charging station for a cell phone or something but it needs an alternator, and hopefully expertise from someone who has built one.
I figure there's enough cardboard and aluminum foil laying around, the only other necessities needed are Reynolds' oven bags, black spray paint, and wheat paste or glue. Also, there's plenty kids around and I figure that they'd want to help out on this science project.
It would be IDEAL to have the exercise bike generator finished and built before Saturday so that we can show it off when the crowds come. I think this fits in pretty well with Albany's commitment to green jobs.
Get in touch with me (Abe) if you're interested in this. Maybe have a teach-in on Friday or Saturday afternoon?

Seems like I couldn't get this up and running in time for the weekend. I'll try over next week. The bike charging station is important, I'd say.
