Thanks, Hezzie, for your follow-up with the TU on the "teach-in" article -- and for thanking Bryan Fitzgerald for moving beyond reporting on arrests. (Now he has to work on the spelling of your first name!)

OA got a nice mention in "The Nation" online at www.thenation.com/blog/165083/andrew-cuomo-and-spirit-occupy. A march to the homes of billionaires on Park Avenue. Endless actions at banks calling on Wall Street to pay its fair share. Occupy Albany set up camp with a large banner reading “Welcome to Albany, Home of Governor One Percent.” With one aspirational eye on national politics, Governor Cuomo’s political people no doubt hated the nickname. They could not allow it to stick. The Governor had to act, and once he’s in motion, things do indeed happen. Only this time, he was forced into motion by the left.

I guess I am one other person who checks this board. I find it very useful when people post here. Here is one more news story. The current issue of Metroland has their annual "Local Heroes" story. Occupy Albany is listed as well as David Soares. Unfortunately so is Albany City chief of police Steven Krokoff. They praise him for defying orders from Cuomo & Jennings to remove Occupy Albany in October. Metroland says Krokoff "distinguished his department and the Albany occupation by avoiding violent confrontation." How incredibly ironic that this issue came out on Dec. 22nd... But even more ironic is that the local hero on the cover of the issue, Willie White, was with us in the park Thursday evening and was close enough to be on the receiving end of pepper spray! Local Heroes article: metroland.net/2011/12/21/local-heroes/Willie White cover photo: metroland.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/cover-122211_local-heroes.jpg

Gail and LSL, Thanks for the links. I might eventually put these media links on the newly revised website, instead of on this board. For now, I will continue to post them here, though. If these links are moved to our website, I will post a notice and link here. Here is the latest media coverage I have found - which includes some more stories from the eviction and its aftermath. DAY SEVENTY-ONE, Dec 31 YNN: capitalregion.ynn.com/content/top_stories/568717/-wanted--poster-appears-on-facebook/ (Quite a damaging story on the Wanted poster, in my opinion. The video shows a blurred version of actual poster – on the OA Facebook page, asking for the officer’s home address, cell phone. Also, apparently someone from Oregon reposted Bradley’s Wanted poster on the Albany Police Department’s Facebook page – well after it had been taken off the OA Facebook page.) DAY SEVENTY-THREE, Jan 2 Times Union: www.timesunion.com/local/article/Albany-police-chief-defends-use-of-force-at-2437566.php#page-1 (APD Chief Krokoff interview.
