Outreach, Coalition Building, Public Relations & Teach Ins join to Magnify the Occupy Albany Voice.
All Groups Should Focus on
Double Linking & Cross Communication
Outreach should focus on:
Materials go to Outreach.
Team should be canvasing ALL OVER.
* There should be both physical & social media.
* There is a desire to plug in with arts & media.
***If individuals are posting flyers that information should be put on Pro Boards.
FB Managers have been doing well.
Transparency- Whoever is managing these sites and networks should be known.
* Perhaps there could be a sticky at the top of each thread with the contact information of these folks.
Ride Shares & CDTA Postings should be up as well.
Dylan has been playing the role of E-connector. Connecting new people to working groups of their interest.
***There should be a Rep from each working group on the ProBoards helping with the connection piece.
There should be increased communication between the Outreach and Coalition Building working group.
The Outreach Team could stand to diversify.
*** Banner Needed for the Occupation
Teach Ins should focus on:
Desire a supportive and empowered community.
Community Outreach beyond the Occupation
* How and why can they be involved?
* Perhaps we can start in the South End and target particular audiences that community orgs determine.
* Maybe AVILLIAGE could be a starting organization?
Popular Education Model
* Inclusive education vs. Teaching at we Teach each other.
* Balances power dynamics and is a form of group therapy.
Teaching Spaces
* At the Encampment
* In the Community
* General Skill Building & Idea Sharing
