Hi Everyone,
I'm from the outreach/pr/coalition building/teachin and ed/ working groups. We met last night and are super pumped!!!! We think it would be critical for all working groups to meet together before Friday because we feel like there are questions and overlap in responsibilities.
We are proposing a meeting on Thursday. It may be long but seems necessary so we can all get on the same page. As long as some, a few or many can come from each working group.
I know people of color caucus meets on Thursday so it would have to be after their meeting, but this is revolution and just the beginning of many late and sleepless nights!
Thoughts?

1) Someone on the POC caucus board posted that they are meeting tonight, not Thurs.
2) Yesterday the Outreach etc WGs briefly discussed the problem of different WGs working on the overlapping tasks in parallel w/o coordinating. But I didn't hear a consensus to call an immediate inter-WG meeting to clarify which groups would do which tasks. There was a general feeling that liaison among groups is important, and that each group should have one or more person doing liason with other WGs which may overlap.
3) Maybe the issue of coordination of tasks would be better dealt with by the General Assembly. I don't have a strong opinion either way.
4) Whether to call an inter-WG meeting Thursday is IMO an issue for facilitation/logistics working group. If members of that group agree on an inter-WG meeting before Friday, please suggest a specific time and place, and post it to the Announcement - events for Calendar board (after verifying site availability).

Facilitation & logistics met tonight, and we've been discussing the same issue of coordination of WGs, overlapping responsibilities, etc. We don't feel like it's our place to impose any structure on the WGs as a whole (mess), or to dictate their meeting / organization. Our mission is to facilitate the meetings of the assemblies, and to train people in the process of facilitation. Two things: 1. I, personally, have proposed a temporary working group to deal with this issue: occupyalbany.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=groups&action=display&thread=287 2. We are going to be getting in touch with each of the WGs to ask them if they have anything that's absolutely necessary to report back to the GA on Friday, or if it can wait for Saturday. We aren't DISCOURAGING WGs from reporting back on Friday, if they have something that they think is really important for the GA to know / discuss / decide on, but we're very conscious that it's going to be... a high-pressure event, and we'd like it to be a model of the process.
