"We have already encountered many threats and should probably be very wary of who we accept baked goods from"....
This was posted by Occupy Albany NY on facebook today.
Can someone please elaborate?
As I had mentioned at yesterday's meeting - I have a bunch of old ladies who are making sandwiches and probably baking cookies. While I don't think they're a threat, I'd like to know who is.
(And also if I should tell my PBJ slingers to not make anything, yet?)

Probably this: I have no idea what he's talking about. After 4 years of FNB all of our culled/food contacts are wonderful glowing beautiful people who would never harm anybody with something shitty like that. The way it was posted was pretty WOOWOWOOWCRAZY. Plus, facebook sucks!

Sounds like the person is talking about general threats to general occupy events.

I'm thinking that if were a general message about general things, it needs to be put out as a general warning. Sort of like "don't accept candy from strangers in vans with no windows" and "don't eat cupcakes if you see razor blades sticking out of the frosting." I think the way it is posted is going to freak people out. (and probably already has).
I agree that people should be aware, and be alarmed if people are acting suspicious (giggling when you take a bite of your apple, like in Snow White for example), but instilling fear is NOT the way to get this off to a good start.
That being said - can I still have my old ladies make PBJ and bake cookies if they feel so inclined?
(Did you know that you can freeze PBJ sandwiches? To defrost them, take them out of the freezer and leave on a counter or near a window for about 5 minutes. Bread thaws out and nothing is slimy or nasty. That's how we do our lunches in advance!)
