I'm proposing a Temporary Working Group to deal with the confusion surrounding the relationships among
1) The Occupy Together movement of the 99%
2) The many General Assemblies that have emerged as localizations of the movement, and
3) The Working Groups that emerge within general assemblies as focal points of productive activity
The mission of the working group would be to craft an explanation of the structure of this revolutionary movement based on our shared observations and understandings.
The specific objective would be to present an explanation as a proposal to the General Assembly as a proposal that, if approved, would become a primary statement of the General Assembly of Albany.
Secondary objectives may include making proposals concerning the organizing process of the General Assembly based on the approved explanation / statement, and producing some kind of documentation of the organizing process (recognizing that the process is a living, adapting thing).
I'm not sure if the first meeting of the General Assembly of Occupy Albany will be the appropriate place / time to propose this working group to the gathered assembly, and I'm pretty busy with my duties as a member of the Facilitation WG between then and now, so I'm suggesting that we communicate here, online, for the time being, meet in person at the meeting of the GA, and meet next week at some point to craft our first proposed explanation.
Unless some kind of regular duties emerge related to the upkeep of the documentation of the process that couldn't become the responsibility of another permanent Working Group, I think this group should dissolve as soon as it has completed these objectives (hence the TEMPORARY Working Group proposal).
Here are some links to a scheduling tool that we can use to schedule a meeting sometime next week:
