I've spoken with some of the other organizers and managed to get myself Admin status for both the website and the forums.
Last night the media/tech working group discussed how to best keep these conversations going online. We identified Proboards as a simple solution because it's already been implemented and it allows all of us to see what other groups are discussing. I've taken some steps to reorganize the forums in a way that should help us stay informed and organized.
I'm hoping to use this thread to get feedback and suggestions, so if you have any please reply.

Thanks for the boards! It's great to have this way to communicate. It seems like there might be some confusion with the outreach board though. I know there are two outreach working groups, but there is also the coalition-building group, which doesn't have it's own board yet. I think some of the coalition-building folks and outreach folks might be inadvertently crossing wires at the moment.

I would like to assist with the site as well I have experience moderating and organizing message boards and have a smartphone capable of posting to a wordpress site. I also have HTML/CSS knowledge and can utilize all social media.

Thank you. I know that I'm missing workgroups but I'm honestly not sure who to get a list from. I'll be sure to add the coalition building group when I get home.

In regards to our adding moderators. I don't know what sort of guidelines we should follow. We don't want anyone to feel disenfranchised, at the same time we need to have some sense of security. I would like to hear back from people about how we can balance the two. I'm hesitant to give admin privileges without some consensus on how it should be handled. Were you a part of the comm/tech working group last night?

Can we make the boards run in reverse chronology?

Thanks for taking on this big task.
I 2nd Dylan's request for reverse order.
Also, is it possible to subscribe to posts in a forum?
And can one delete a post one just made?
There's an Occupation working group. Can we get a forum up for that? I'm not in it, but I'd like to be able to contact them.
Thanks!!

I just added the coalition building and Occupation working groups. I believe there was some discussion about a food/amenities working group? I'm not sure what to call it.

I like the boards running this direction.
You can bookmark if you look in the upper left hand corner of the first post in the thread.

Flashmob, I gave you admin rights. I don't see any options to change the way the boards show posts. It seems to use some sort of algorithm to promote the most active threads to the top rather than chronology. It takes a little getting used to but it should be easy to track the threads your interested in.
This is joshred again, btw. I guess we need to use the original admin account to give out admin rights.

Is there anyone that is part of a finances working group? Are you? If someone replies yes, I will make one.
And as a suggestion start with a site called Kickstarter. I think it's a .org

dylan, I think a finances group is a good idea. Can you create a separate post for it and try and get an idea of the level of interest there is?

eddie I think a working security force from our side would be more beneficial. Someone to keep an extra barrier between us and the police, a group that we can trust to inform rather than just demand. They can carry walkies and listen to the police band over a scanner and let panicking trapped protesters know of exits. In addition if you see someone that might be a cop spreading entrapment you can stand next to them and shout about it exposing them until they leave making them ineffective.
