Just shot an idea over with albanyhamscam over here- perhaps we can be loaned one/multiple compost bins from the radix center on the condition that we clean them out (they DO get gross after a week's use).
As this whole movement has a very holistic feel to me, I'd sleep better at night knowing that we're doing everything we can to support urban homesteading/urban agriculture in our communities and not let food sources rot anaerobically in landfills, creating methane.
It might be too much to ask radix to pick it up from us- we just need the bins and drop off the compost since it's near the Furnace and our activities of cooking and washing dishes will take us in that neighborhood anyway. It's even bikeable if you have a crate mounted on the back of your bike!
So, I propose we approach Radix for composting for #occupyalbany, and at the very least, collect it to be saved and put in someone's backyard heap or something.

I'd love to take compost to the Youth Organics garden. We can also ask Radix if you want.
