Unfortunately, most of the 'laundry' that has been bagged up and left at the camp has turned foul and moldy. I don't know how woe got so much soiled comfort items, but I took it on Saturday off-site to see if I could get it cleaned, and no places were open. Also, it's probably about 350 lbs of stuff total (including the water weight... a lot of this stuff is dirty, moldy & sopping wet) so if I got it cleaned it would cost a fortune.
Anyway, I sorted through it and it looks like only 5 or 6 bags out of about 24 are really worth washing. The rest has that dingy smell to it. Who knows how long it's been out there.
I'm holding the stuff that's okay back at my house and going to stagger the rest durning my neighborhood trash days unless anybody has any better ideas for what to do with it. The place I checked with won't give me a discount even though I said everything I'm washing is going to charity.
Anybody know any people down with Occupy Together that own a laundromat? I might also be able to do them myself in a coin op, but I'll need the coins up front. All the drop-off laundry places require payment to be rendered at time of drop-off, of course.
On another note, all the perfectly clean comfort items are in the garage of the Furnace. We were going to donate them to The Trinity Institution, The Damien Center, and The Homeless Action Committee, if anyone wants to take this project up I think Wesley and Drea were going to spearhead it.

I might be able to help with some of it; could wash some at home. Email me at lesleynoel@aol.com.
