Reading the fine print from the paperwork the city provided us with I noticed that, regardless of which way we go with all this, we have been ordered to vacate the park on 12/17 for a 5k and fireworks display. Obviously neither of these would be taking place in Academy/Lafayette Park. The city clearly wants to hide us from event goers that day. I see this as an invitation to do something substantial that day. Any ideas? I figured the sooner we start working on this the better. I am not advocating vacating the park I just think we should come up with a variety of activities to highlight OA whether in the park or elsewhere.

Wow, I missed that in the paperwork. Yes, we should make a plan for that.

Rana posted a link to documents from the City on 12.2.11 on the General Board under the "City Eviction" thread. The link opened 7 pages, although the last of those pages was totally black. I see nothing in the first 6 pages that relates to 12.17.11. Is there something on that black seventh page or is there an additional document that was not part of the 7 pages on that link?

It's part of the proposed permit - we'll be discussing it with the City today - there is no reason we should have to totally vacate for that - we'll see what their issues are.

Yes, that's what they said (that we're in the restricted zone for the fireworks) but that they only last for 15 minutes or so. We won't have to move any tents, we just can't have anyone there during that brief time period when the fireworks are going off. (And no one else can be there either.)
