I wrote this about a month ago, and submitted it to the peer-reviewed 'humanist sociology' journal Humanity & Society. It's been accepted, and I just got the reviews back, and will be making some changes. I'd love to get feedback from people in the RC on some suggested updates or elaborations. I can't add much new material. Mainly what would be helpful is suggestions to add more clarity or depth to something that's not here. The Senior Editor suggested a little more marxist theory would help, and perhaps some poststructuralist/postmodern theory to explain how this is a uniquely postmodern movement. I might go more into Agamben where he is cited, and perhaps add more from Richard J.F. Day's fantastic book Gramsci Is Dead.
