Minutes from Facilitation/Logistics Working Group Meeting 10/9/11 Ryan, Jaron facilitators Cara minutes General points discussed:
Exchange contact info Decide spokesperson for F/L WG to report back to GA Get info on process for facilitation How much time to devote to process education at each mtg – agreed that hand signals need to be reviewed at the start of each mtg Facilitator’s job to keep meeting moving Trainer for facilitators? Need diversity Easels could help Make signs to convey process info for display at GA mtgs Smaller breakout groups in large GA meetings for discussion w/ one rep from each group to report back to GA Logistics to operate as a subgroup and might consider possible separation into its own WG if approved at GA Each facilitator teach one person after facilitating Facilitators/reps need to rotate GA mtgs in the round can be chaotic – consider locating facilitators/speakers at front of mtg Interpreters for special needs attendees Types of roles for facilitation WG – minutes, facilitators, stack, coordinators of floor time (vibe check)
Proposed Agenda for the current meeting:
*Setting a time/place to meet with a trainer for those who want to facilitate A husband mentioned his wife Rebecca as a qualified facilitator
*Location/time of next WG mtg Decided to vote online; Matthew will set up online tool Chad offered Citizen Action offices; Matthew offered The Furnace
*Find process material Many different processes mentioned that could be adopted Matthew and Emma referred to a document from London Take the Square Movement
*Location of next GA Rep from Occupy WG proposed that next GA be publicly visible as action to capitalize on momentum Discussion of doing public action on way to GA as was done by some that evening Discussion of need to rotate meeting locations each week Consensus for Grand Street Arts, 10/16/11 at 5pm with speaking to short time to scout locations but will be rotating GA sites from here forward.
*Subgroup for logistics needed to specifically scout locations for future meeting Emma and Robin volunteered
*Roles at next WG mtg to be decided at beginning of the meeting – facilitator, minutes, stack
*Agenda for next WG meeting would arise out of discussion online and at the beginning of the next meeting
