We got everything required for less than $350 and I think we got fair deals. If there's anything we could have gotten a better deal on, it's probably the cabling. I should get an email receipt from amazon any minute. I'll post it.

Looks like we are running into divergence between email and proboards... Josh posted this earlier in email:
"Fong & I just ordered all of the essential gear to get the network up and running. We're currently ~$200 under budget. So up twinkles up everyone. If there is anyone who wants to be left out of IT emails going forward, please let me know."
We used Amazon which, at the very least, I don't believe has any history of worker abuse. Josh contacted Matt in Finance who made attempts (prior to these last posts) some calls to inquire about the potential local distributor, but left off that if he didn't get back to us effectively by the end of post-GA facilitation meeting that night, we should go forward with online-ordering.
When the gear arrives we will do a config test at an indoor location. I can host this at my place, but Im all the way in Guilderland. So I'm guessing folks will want to choose an alternate spot.
After we do that then it's on to site-survey and site-testing. At that point we'll have to start coming up with 1) power solutions 2) mounting solutions 3) gear housing solutions.
Then lastly reconvene as we decided in our first meeting and come up with good neighbor policy for wifi and any other ToS type stuff.

Somehow Josh's post didn't show up or I otherwise didn't see it before I started writing my post. Sorry for any confusion.
The coax cabling tends to be pricey just due to supply and demand because of the not-oft-used N and SMA type connectors.
They may seem pricey compared to more conventional-use coax cables... But compared to stuff we use in the ham radio world, still a steal...

The emails are not in a "post friendly" format. Just trust us, we got good prices and the Amazon's shipping will be very fast.
@fong, Since everything is going to be shipped to my place anyway we may as well do our testing here.
