lsl, I agree with you completely about not going to SUNY to demonstrate at that lecture by the federal reserve guy. In addition to everything you said, I think having Occupy demonstrators go there would send a very negative message. By disrupting a lecture at a university on an arcane topic (you're right, I looked over the monograph and there weren't three words in it I could understand), Occupy Albany would start to look less like a grass-roots American movement for justice and more like Mao's Cultural Revolution. We're all about free speech, we shouldn't be hassling some guy at a lecture just because he works for the Fed. It would be different if he was lecturing on some objectionable policy, but that's not the case here.

An action on Cuomo's "I am the government" could include a large well executed cartoon of Prince Andrew as Louis XIV, who famously said "L'etat c'est moi". If DA decides on this action, the Art WG should be invited to help with this. The NY Daily News, Thurs Nov 10, page 2, saved us some work. However, the King Andrew image is not on the NYDN site, someone took a photo and put it on flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/azipaybarah/6331353145/sizes/l/in/photostream/

OK, I was thinking about Direct Action today... It doesn't *have* to be illegal. It just has to be direct, and action-y. That thing I was saying about providing something for the community that the powers that be don't provide? It can be education about People's History. It can be a neighborhood community forum where people can talk about these issues with each other.
Maybe one way to put these kinds of ideas together with the kind of in-your-face actions that attract more attention both from working group/OA people and from the media would be to work on the School Walk-Out and have a couple classes going for the students over at OA so they can leave school early and come to OCCUPY SCHOOL.
If others are interested/willing, I'd LOVE to work on that.

I was just mentioning the fed res talk, the point is he is from the fed reserve, he can take the message back with him letting people know we are everywhere. That was my idea.
Occupying buildings: awesome idea but think we would need more people.
I try to participate as much as I can without the rest of my responsibilities falling apart, and wish I could participate more.
